Etsub Berhanu

Etsub Berhanu is a Clinical Neurotechnology Research Assistant in the Department of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital and consults on intellectual property development for Brown’s Technology Venture’s Office. She is currently responsible for running research sessions with participants enrolled in the BrainGate2 pilot clinical trial, and she assists Brown’s Technology Venture’s Office with neurotechnology and other intellectual property matters.

Etsub received her B.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering and B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering from Duke University in 2004. She then went on to obtain an M.S. in Applied Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. Prior to joining the BrainGate2 research team, Etsub worked as a medical device patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is a registered patent agent.
